Therapeutic massage
Therapeutic massage combines a range of manual techniques. Stress, limited physical activity, prolonged sitting and repetitive working positions can place a heavy burden on the body, most often felt as pain in the cervical or lumbar spine.
Under everyday strain, muscles may enter a state of hypertonicity—persistent tightness accompanied by reduced function and symptoms such as dizziness, headache, tingling in the limbs and stiffness.
Therapeutic massage may also help with muscular discomfort associated with sciatica, disc problems, lumbago, heel spurs, fibrosis, myogelosis, tension headaches and migraines.
Even healthy recreation can sometimes result in minor muscle or joint injuries, followed by pain and inflammation.
Therapeutic massage works more deeply because the movements are firmer and more focused. It supports microcirculation, relaxes the back and neck and helps release lactic-acid build-up and painful knots. The pressure is normally moderate—somewhere between relaxation and sports massage.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
For a lasting effect, a series of treatments may be recommended—often 5 to 10 sessions of 30 minutes or longer, depending on individual needs. Sessions may be scheduled daily or every other day. A completed series can support blood and lymph circulation, muscle relaxation, metabolism, tissue nourishment and the nervous system.
The aim is not only to help you feel better and more relaxed in the moment, but also to address persistent patterns of tension.
